On Thursday, November 5th, Spoon chapters across the world held Senses events, and they rocked. Here at Pitt, we paired up with Grub Club and decided to trick our taste buds by taking Miracle Berry tablets.

Not gonna lie, it sounds like a drug deal, but we promise it wasn’t. By swirling the tab around in our mouths, our taste buds were coated with the magical berry powder.

We tried a bunch of sour and hot things, including lemons, limes, hot sauce, sriracha, cream cheese, lime juice, instant coffee grounds, Extreme Sour Patch Kids, strawberries, grapefruit and apple cider vinegar.

Our community manager summed up the experience when she said “At first it’s like ‘Oh,’ and then it’s like ‘Whaaaaat?'”

We couldn’t agree more.

Cream cheese tasted like cheesecake, sriracha taste like tomato sauce (although you could still feel the burn), lemons tasted like straight-up lemonade and instant coffee grounds tasted like sweet iced coffee.

Over 100 people showed up for our flavor trip and we actually ran out of food (oops). If you want to try MBerry for yourself (which we highly recommend), you can find the tabs on Amazon.
