If you aren’t familiar with Dig Inn Seasonal Market, now is the time to check it out. In addition to an extensive seasonal menu, the mini-chain is offering a free month of food to the winner of their current photo contest. With six locations throughout Manhattan – plus delivery service – Dig Inn is well on the way to fulfilling its mission to make it easier for people to eat well.

With a focus on real, healthy foods, Dig Inn sources its ingredients from local, sustainable farms and makes a point of telling customers where their food is coming from. In an effort to strengthen the connection between restaurants and farmers, all six locations will be donating 10 percent of the Brussels sprouts pints sold through October 24th to Slow Food NYC.

While the menu changes each season, some of Dig Inn’s most popular items are the roasted Brussels Sprouts, kale salad and roasted chicken. Simply roasted and tossed with lime and maple vinaigrette, the Brussels Sprouts are a top seller and currently part of Dig Inn’s #SproutToLunch contest, which invites customers to purchase a pint of Brussels Sprouts, photograph it at their favorite lunch spot and Instagram it with #SproutToLunch for a chance to win a free month of food.

With kale salad now on almost every restaurant menu, it should be no surprise that it is one Dig Inn’s best sellers. The version here is made with chopped Long Island kale, shaved apple, pumpkin seeds and a tangy carrot ginger dressing that keeps the salad light and refreshing. Great on its own or as a side dish, it is no wonder that this dish is amongst the most popular.

As for “Quality Meats,” several of which are available during every season, the lemon chicken comes highly recommended. Roasted with fresh lemon, thyme, garlic and paprika, the chicken is extremely tender with a mild flavor that pairs well with all of the sides and salads.

Overall, Dig Inn does a great job of promoting healthy, sustainable eating while allowing seasonal ingredients to take center stage. This is a great place for anyone looking for delicious farm fresh food at a much lower price than the average farm-to-table restaurant.
