Welcome to the 21st century, where everything from ordering your coffee to finding a significant other has gone mobile.

And now, finally, so has splitting the bill.

Gone are the days of the awkward small talk at the end of the meal when everyone avoids eye contact with the check. Say goodbye to wasting time typing the same numbers over and over again into your calculator app trying to figure out the tip. You no longer have to pay an extra dollar towards your friend’s “bottomless” mimosas because they can’t do math.

Dash, an app created to “take the hassle out of heading out,” is here to handle all the hard work for you.

As of September 30, Dash will now offer services in over 50 colleges and university markets across the US. This means anytime you’re dining out, Dash will be the much needed third wheel ready and willing to help you check-in, view, split, and pay your tab from your smartphone.

Dash is basically the Uber for going out to eat because they believe in an experience that doesn’t involve the messy process of handling money. Unless you’re that one friend who always has to flash their wad of cash to the rest of the table.

Dash hopes to tap into the lives of the 180 million people in the United States who have smartphones, with a special focus on the under-25 demographic.

The app also has a feature called Venue Vibes, which lets you know how packed your favorite restaurant is in real time, so you know when to show up in order to get your food even faster.

According to Jeff McGregor, the CEO of Dash, “By giving our users a tool to find the best places to go, know exactly what to expect when they walk in, and taking care of payment on the back-end, we’’re improving a night out with friends.”

Dash hopes to be active on over 100 campuses nationwide by this time next year. You can download it now on iOS and Android.
