Crazy milkshakes have taken over social media. Black Tap in NYC is famous for over-the-top milkshake creations, but with its growing Insta-fame comes growing lines out the door. Luckily, Google Maps rolled out a new feature, called Popular Times, that tells you when it's the best time to go to Black Tap, or any other business.

Black Tap has multiple locations in New York. SoHo is home to the original Black Tap, but you can also find locations in the Meatpacking District, Midtown, and Downtown. So I used the new Google Maps feature to tell me when to go to the popular restaurant. Here is a run-down of the best and worst times to go to Black Tap's SoHo location for the next time you're craving a milkshake.

Worst times:

Friday: Between 6-10 pm

Saturday: Between 5-10 pm

Sunday: Between 3-6 pm

Clearly, Black Tap is a popular place for dinner on the weekends. Saturday is definitely its busiest day, with people piling in starting around 1 pm, though the massive lines don't start until around 5 pm. Black Tap, though still busy, is generally less crowded on Sundays.

Lucky for you, Black Tap stays open late: until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays and until 12 am on Sundays. The crowds start to disappear around 11 pm—so head over around then for the ultimate midnight snack.

Best times:

Tuesday: Between 3-6 pm

Wednesday: All day!

Thursday: All day!

Clearly, the lines for Black Tap go way down during the week. There is still a little bit of traffic on Mondays (definitely still better than the weekend though) and weirdly, for lunch on Tuesdays. But on Wednesdays and Thursdays, go whenever and the line shouldn't be too bad.

SpoonTip: Black Tap has more than just delicious shakes. They also have drool-worthy burgers, salads, and fries. They even have options for your vegan friend. Happy eating!
