Of all the foods in the world, who knew toast would become such a big deal? Avocado toast, Nutella toast, nut butter toasts and more are taking over Instagram. Restaurants have even added fancy toast to their menus.

Ricotta toast is on the rise and is one of the most versatile options in the toast craze. Try these variations to get the most out of your cheesy morning toast.

If you’re in a rush in the morning, ricotta toast with fruit is a quick yet gourmet option. Berries, banana slices, figs, pears or apples are the best choices. Add a drizzle of honey and your easy breakfast is immediately insta-worthy.

Even though ricotta is often used for desserts, there are many ways you can make your ricotta toast savory. Add some roasted veggies, top it with sliced tomatoes and fresh basil, or even just a few slices of cucumber. Balsamic vinegar is never a bad idea, either.

 3. Make it chocolatey

Everything is better with chocolate, including ricotta toast, so melt your favorite chocolate and drizzle it on top. Add some sea salt for instant wow factor.

4. Make it nutty

As we all know by now, nuts are an awesome source of protein and healthy fats, and they’re pretty damn tasty, too. You can add some slivered almonds, candied pecans or even a layer of your favorite nut butter.

5. Add herbs

Herbs are an underrated ingredient, and almost any flavor could work with ricotta toast. Before spreading the ricotta on your bread, add a few pinches of dill, chives, basil or oregano and savor the flavor. Damn, that’s good.

6. Add jam

Instead of PB&J, make it an R&J by adding raspberry, orange or blackberry jam to your ricotta toast. Hell yeah.
