Earth Fare, an organic market on Lumpkin Street in Athens, has decided to discount their sushi meals every Wednesday. And by discount, I mean nine varieties of sushi are up for grabs at $5. Now that's a steal.

Perhaps catering to college kids on a budget, $5 sushi Wednesdays have become a hit among University of Georgia students.

"It's nice to be able to roll on over to Earth Fare for a cheap sushi roll every week," says Ross Waters, a third year from Buckhead.

The market prides itself on providing healthy food for everyone. They set their standards high and their prices low. They do not sell any products that contain high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artificial colors and sweeteners, or growth hormones in their fresh meat and dairy.

Their sushi rolls in particular have gained widespread popularity, because they're cheap but certainly do not lack quality. The assortments are hand-rolled every day and replenished promptly when purchased — which on Wednesday's, is quite often.

Discounted rolls include the Spring Roll, Spicy "Inari" Roll, Veggie Roll, Crispy Crab, Crunchy Roll, Tokyo Fantasy, "Nippon Favorite", Philadelphia Roll, and Blazing California Roll. They've got a little something for everyone.

And what's even better is that $5 sushi Wednesdays are just one of many deals offered at Earth Fare. "Two Slice Tuesdays" have also gained popularity, during which two slices of pizza made with organic dough are on sale for $4. During football season, game day deals are definitely an attraction: cooked wings are 50 cents each, and a large pizza is $7 on Saturdays and Sundays.

As a small business that is gradually expanding, Earth Fare is clearly still committed to developing a close relationship with its customers.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a good deal on organic food — and certainly, if it's Wednesday and you want to get your sushi fix — Earth Fare is the move.
