Beyond winning Season 7 of Bravo’s Top Chef, Chef Kevin Sbraga has made a big name for himself, and he’s done it right here in Philadelphia. With his eponymous restaurant Sbraga as well as his newer spot The Fat Ham, Sbraga has made modern American cuisine new and exciting again. While his restaurants are considered some of the best in the city, Spoon wanted to find out what Sbraga likes to do outside of his restaurant kitchens. Spoon: Where do you like to eat on your days off?
Spoon: What are your favorite Philadelphia restaurants?
Sbraga: I really enjoy what Joe Cicala is doing at Le Virtu. His use of spice is really interesting to me.
Spoon: What is your favorite dish to cook at home?
Sbraga: There is nothing better than spaghetti and meatballs. That is the ultimate comfort food to me.
Spoon: What was your favorite childhood meal?
Sbraga: My mom’s scrambled eggs were the best.
