Bless you Gilmore Girls. You are the end all and be all when it comes to telling us what we should have for breakfast. Whether it’s chocolate chip pancakes at Luke’s or three bowls of cereal at the Yale dining hall, the options are unlimited. Rory Gilmore and Paris Geller in the dining hall are a dynamic duo at picking which cereals go with what.
Next time you’re at D-Hall (or E-hall), mix it up with some fruity pebbles and rice krispies in one bowl. Or, better yet, upgrade your cereal with the tips from this article.
Some combos may sounds iffy, but give them a try next time. Yo to the lo. Here’s a ranking of the best combos paired with their character from the show:
6. Raisin Bran and Honey Bunches of Oats with Skim Milk. – Luke Danes
Luke and his healthy ways are spiced up when you add some flavor to a bland bowl of Raisin Bran. Fun fact: Raisin Bran is actually jam packed with sugar, but don’t let that stop you from trying out this breakfast delicacy. Drink the leftover milk, too, because it is one of the best.
5. “Captain Crunch over a bowl of Rice Krispies with a perimeter of Shredded Wheat.” – Paris Geller
Extravagant, just like Paris herself. She takes life by the reigns and only aims for perfection, so it’s hard to believe that this combo of cereals would be anything but greatness. Which of these cereals are you?
4. Vanilla ice cream mixed with Fruity Pebbles. – Logan Huntzberger
Honestly, this sounds kind of gross, but if Logan says ice cream and cereal is good, then it must be bangin’. Those baby blues don’t lie. Think of it as yogurt and granola with a sweet twist, but maybe not for breakfast because #dhalldash would hit ya way to early in the day. Give it a shot later in afternoon, Ace.
Or better yet, before leaving D Hall, fill up a Tupperware with one of these cereals to try as a late night snack.
3. Cinnamon Toast Crunch in coffee, NOT milk. – Lorelai Gilmore
For my coffee lovers, it’s the best of both worlds in this bowl. Cinnamon goodness and coffee all in one to give you what tastes like Christmas morning or just reconfirms your addiction to coffee. Either way, you can start off your morning the Lorelai Gilmore way with coffee, coffee, and more coffee.
2. Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops. – Rory Gilmore
This odd combination will have you running on a sugar rush until eleven. Rory and her sweet tooth are out of this world and very few people can compete with her tolerance for sugar, but you should try it out.
1. Trix and Rice Chex. – The Rory and Lorelai Effect
These two different cereals balance each other perfectly, just as Rory and Lorelai keep each other calm. Rice Chex tones down the sweetness of the Trix, and the Trix adds a nice flavor to every bite.
Rory is chill, Lorelai is outgoing, but the two together are unstoppable. This combo gives the Trix an element of maturity, so it’s not just for kids. It’s for everyone who wants a damn good bowl of cereal.
