If you’re like me and typically finish an entire tub of ice cream in a single sitting, then Halo Top ice cream is for you. Halo Top is a low-calorie, low-sugar, high-protein ice cream that the internet is obsessed with. Before I share the best and worst Halo Top ice cream flavors, it's important to understand the hype behind this ice cream brand.

A single container of Halo Top ranges from 240 to 360 calories, depending on the flavor. No, I am not messing around here — an entire pint of Halo Top is just about the same number of calories as a single serving of most ice cream brands.  Also, each container is gluten free and has a whopping 20 grams of protein.

This low-cal, low-carb, low-fat, low-sugar ice cream seems too good to be true. Each pint contains milk and cream, erythritol, vegetable glycerin, organic carob gum, organic guar gum, and organic stevia. It also has no synthetic growth hormones and uses only natural flavors. Seems healthy enough to me!

However, after trying several different Halo Top flavors, I discovered that some are unbelievably delicious, while others are down-right disgusting. To save yourself from buying the wrong flavors, here's my list of some of the best and worst Halo Top ice cream flavors, in no particular order.

Best: Birthday Cake

The Birthday Cake flavor is probably my favorite out of all the choices because it legitimately tastes like a birthday cake. It's creamy and flavorful, has confetti sprinkles, and has the consistency of any typical ice cream band. I have bought this flavor several times and have yet to be sick of it, and everyone I know who has tried it is always shocked that something so tasty is only 280 calories.

Worst: S'mores

I was so excited to try the S'mores flavor since I'm a s'more fanatic. However, I had one bite of this and was appalled. First, the ice cream flavor tasted like vanilla—not marshmallow or chocolate—and had tiny little specs of gram cracker that lacked any flavor. In truth, this tasted like a fake, wanna-be s'more that couldn't get its act together. If you're going to buy s'mores-flavored ice cream, you should just splurge for the Ben & Jerry's or Friendly's version.

Best: Chocolate

What the s'mores flavor lacked was chocolate, which sucks since the Chocolate flavor is absolutely amazing! Besides its super creamy texture and simplicity, this flavor genuinely tastes as good as your typical 1,200-calorie chocolate ice cream—but the Halo Top version is only 280 calories. If you're looking for a low-cal way to satisfy your chocolate craving, this flavor is the way to go.

Worst: Strawberry

The Strawberry flavor simply sucks. It tastes like fake strawberries and lacks the creaminess that this ice cream flavor so desperately needs. Plus, it has no strawberry chunks, so it just looks like artificially-pink-colored ice cream—gross! Instead, have a bowl of strawberries and whipped-cream, you'll be much much satisfied.

Best: Mint Chip

The Mint Chip flavor is not only one of the lowest-calorie flavor options, it's truly one of the best. It's not too minty or too sweet, and it's super refreshing. It doesn't have a fake-mint taste that many mint chip ice creams' do, and it is loaded with chocolate chunks (yum!). This is a must-try flavor!

Best: Oatmeal Cookie

Who would of thought the Oatmeal Cookie flavor would be so good? This unique flavor is the perfect combination of cinnamon and oatmeal. Even though there are no cookie chunks, it contains oatmeal chunks that make the ice cream that much better. Even those who hate oatmeal cookies will love this flavor.
