Coming home from college for Thanksgiving usually means never ending questions about grades, relationships, and politics from your relatives. But coming home also means finally being reunited with your hometown friends.

I started the tradition of Friendsgiving with my group of friends two years ago, and our third annual feast is much more special since this is the first time we’ve all been away from each other at school. Getting ready to get the gang back together involves planning the perfect menu, filled with classic  favorites.

You can still be festive without spending your whole day cooking by making turkey sandwiches. These are an easy and affordable way to pay tribute to the Thanksgiving classic.

2. Mac 'n Cheese

Mac 'n Cheese is a must-have for every occasion, especially Friendsgiving.

3. Dino Nuggets

Reminiscing on old memories while munching on a classic childhood snack perfectly describes Friendsgiving.

4. Smiley Fries

Why serve your friends normal fries when you can serve smiley fries this holiday season? They just make you feel happy, and will make being with your friends 100 times better.

5. Food from Your Favorite Restaurant

Being away from your hometown is hard, but being away from your favorite hometown food is even harder. Order your favorite dishes to satisfy those cravings you and your friends have when you're eating in your college dining hall during the school year.

6. S'mores Dip

cream, chocolate, ice cream, marshmallow, ice
Leigh Beck

Remind your pals of those summer nights spent making memories around the campfire with s'mores dip. This dessert is easy to make, serves a lot of people, and is a guaranteed fan-favorite.

7. Caramel Apple Pops

chocolate, sweet, candy, cake

Caramel apples are a fall staple and these pops are a fun take on the classic. Slice up some apples, set out some dips and toppings, and let your friends get creative. The combination possibilities are endless, but the results are always delicious.
