For a whole week, I ate nothing but meat and protein-rich foods. You might not think so, but there are actually multiple benefits to doing this. First, eating only meat a very quick way to lose fat since you are consuming close to no carbs. Second, and most important, since I am an extreme meat lover, the diet allowed me to indulge my carnivorous side (and I loved it). This diet is certainly not for everyone, but if you think you might like it, I have mapped out 3 days of meals to give you a flavor. Warning —it’s meaty.

Day 1:

Breakfast: Egg white omelet with Swiss Cheese. This diet is awesome because you can eat lots of cheeses, as cheese is so low in carbs.

Lunch: Tuna with celery and low-fat mayonnaise. Not full? Try a side of hearts of palm in balsamic vinegar.

Dinner: Burger with American cheese, but no bun. I enjoy a side of pickles and dip my burger into low-sugar ketchup.

Day 2:

Breakfast: Cookie Dough Quest Bar melted in the microwave for 20 seconds with a side of Almond Breeze milk. Quest bars are one of the only bars that are very high in protein and fiber yet very low in carbs.

Lunch: Romaine lettuce with steak bits and balsamic vinegar.

Dinner: Salmon with dill and lemon plus a side of steamed spinach.

Day 3:

Breakfast: Two eggs over easy with salt and pepper along with a side of raspberries. Most fruits are high in sugar, but berries happen to have less.

Lunch: Grilled Chicken with veggies and mozzarella. I go to the Pari Cafe Creperie above Houston Hall, and I ask for a chicken, vegetable, and cheese crepe minus the crepe.

Dinner: Turkey burger and a side of zucchini sprinkled with shredded parmesan cheese.

In general, high protein diets filled with meat will keep you very full, but if you get hungry and want a snack there are some protein-filled options. You can try a protein shake with whey powder and almond milk. If you want something sweet, you can try a sugar-free Jell-O chocolate pudding. This diet may seem extremely difficult, but once you get into the groove, you stop craving those sweet salty snacks and head straight for the meat aisle.
