For those of you who have ever doubted non-stick cooking sprays and their highly flammable content or have read heard how non-stick cooking spray may be potentially harmful to your health, I hereby offer you an alternate solution. This alternative is not only healthier, but much cheaper, reusable, and just pure genius too. Why didn't I think of this before?

What you'll need

vinegar
Sophia Ankel

-1 misting spray bottle (you can find these for really cheap at either the Dollar Tree, Target, or Walmart)

-Oil of your choice

-Water

Step 1

coffee, tea, beer, espresso
Sophia Ankel

Wash the inside of your spray bottle to get rid of any dust or dirt that has been building up in it.

Step 2

milk
Sophia Ankel

Mix in 1 part oil to 5 parts water. Again, you can use any oil of your choosing. I used olive oil and measured according to the size of my (huge!) spray bottle. I didn't want to fill it up entirely.

Step 3

milk, yogurt, cream, milkshake, sweet
Sophia Ankel

Shake it well and store it in cool, dark place. Make sure to shake the bottle before every use. Sometimes it takes a while to come out, but you just need to keep pressing.

And voila! In just three easy steps you have a simple solution to cutting down those grocery bills and being healthy while you do it. Not only that, but once you've finished this spray bottle, you can always just refill and reuse it. How easy is that?

Next time you think about how cooking spray bottles contain the same flammable icky chemicals that are also core ingredients in cigarette lighters and outdoor barbecues, just know that there are always simple solutions like this.
