You are sitting in your room, diligently doing your homework, and suddenly your stomach growls. You slunk back from the dining hall a mere hour ago, but your stomach is calling. It’s saying, “Hey buddy…I want more food…NOW.”

You’re not about to splurge on a late night snack, so you meander down to the convenience store and emerge with the most beloved college snack of all: ramen noodles.

Now you can just heat this cheap eat in the microwave on high for a couple of minutes and satiate your whining stomach instantly, or, you can try one of the these new trending ways to enjoy your ramen noodles:

1. Grilled Cheese

Spread two slices of bread with butter, place them in a frying pan= and load both sides up with as much cheese as you want. Cook until the bread is toasty, and then remove. Slap some cooked ramen noodles in there, and bring the two slices of bread together to make your sandwich.

2. Salad

It’s as simple as it sounds. Whip up your favorite salad and rather than adding croutons, sprinkle on some ramen noodles for a good crunch and some extra flavor.

3. Coleslaw

This Asian-inspired dish is perfect for springtime. Buy coleslaw mix from the supermarket, then throw in sunflower seeds and sliced almonds. Sprinkle in chopped green onions and add the package of ramen, seasoning and all. Add vegetable oil, vinegar and sugar to taste.

4. Snack

The night before a long day of classes, mix curry powder and salt together, then sprinkle this mixture onto cashews, peanuts, cornflakes and ramen noodles. Douse the whole concoction with heart-healthy vegetable oil and bake for 10 minutes at 400°F.

5. The Ramlet

Let’s face it, the dining hall omelettes are satisfying, if you can wait in line for an hour. Instead, gather up some ingredients and head over to your friend’s apartment. There, beat a couple of eggs with your ramen noodles and seasoning, and fry to your heart’s content.

6. Burger

First, boil the noodles. Then mix the noodles with two eggs, salt and pepper. Divide the noodles into burger-size bowls, placing plastic wrap over each bowl. Refrigerate for 25 minutes, and the noodles should be firm. Fry each for 3 minutes. Stuff a juicy burger between your ramen-bun along with all the fix-ins.

7. Taco

Similar to the ramen noodle salad, all you need is a bowl full of your preferred taco ingredients. Add the packet of flavorings and some cooked ramen noodles, and you are ready to make your mouth water.
