Bananas are my favorite fruit. I eat 2, sometimes 3 per day. They not only taste amazing but they have so many benefits, some of which you probably have never even heard of. If you’re a banana lover like me, switch it up with these alternative uses:

Make ice cream

Craving some ice cream but don’t want to sacrifice the fat and calories? Freeze a few bananas in a Ziploc bag over night. Throw the frozen bananas into a blender with a little bit of milk and peanut butter (optional) and blend it up. It will come out the consistency of ice cream and it is so much healthier for you. This recipe requires only a couple bananas and some water.

Bake a healthy treat

You can make almost any dessert recipe a little bit healthier by replacing one of the wet unhealthy ingredients with a mashed banana. One of my favorites consists of rolled oats, peanut butter, honey, cinnamon and a mashed banana. Roll the sticky mess into balls and bake them. Try these banana and peanut butter granola bars.

Get rid of a hangover

Wake up Sunday morning with a killer hangover from your night out? Bananas will replace potassium and other lost electrolytes. Pop two bananas into a blender with some milk and peanut butter and kiss that hangover goodbye. If you’re craving some carbs, make these banana pancakes instead.

Kick your bad mood

Bananas contain tryptophan, which the body converts into serotonin. Therefore, bananas will help you to relax and feel happier and improve your mood. Take a look here, to read about what else these vitamins can do.

Whiten your teeth

Bananas contain not only potassium but also magnesium and manganese. These minerals can help to remove stains on your teeth. Before throwing out your banana peel, rub it on your teeth for 2 minutes and bring out that white smile, as demonstrated here.
