The typical bucket list usually includes experiences like trekking the Inca trail or inventing the next technology that saves lives – but really, who wants to do that? Let’s talk food. No bucket list is complete without a couple iconic food experiences. If you’re looking to add some to your list, you came to the right place. Here are 10 Stanford food experiences on my bucket list that’ll hopefully get you inspired. You have to try them before graduating (or at least before kicking the proverbial bucket).

1. Ordering A Dirty Elephant From Coupa Cafe’s Secret Menu

There’s something slightly thrilling about secret menus, and this drink makes the perfect midday pick-me-up.

2. Trying New Restaurants During Restaurant Week

From Belgian frites to Argentinian ceviche, restaurant weeks in San Francisco, San Jose, and Redwood City give people an excuse to eat their way through the cities’ best restaurants.

3. Making White Wine Sangria From Stolen Dining Hall Ingredients

Hello free and delicious sangria! Of course I’ll have to wait until I’m 21 to try this 😉

4. Ordering Kolaches From Texas

Coming to California from Texas, I occasionally find myself missing the steaming goodness of a kolache (ko-LAH-chee). Kolache Factory will ship these beautiful dough buns filled with philly cheesesteak, cream cheese, or anything-your-heart-desires straight to your doorstep.

5. Getting A Scoop of Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream

I’ve tried DIY-ing liquid nitrogen ice cream before, and while the ice cream turned out good, I’d imagine that liquid nitrogen ice cream from Smitten Microcreamery, perfectly churned to order, will turn out even better. These interesting flavors from Tin Pot and Pressed Juicery are hard to resist too.

6. Trying Out Every Cheesy Dish On This List

Who knew so much cheese existed around Stanford? Mozzarella Moon Sandwiches and Mac’n Cheese? Heart emoji.

7. Going Fruit Picking

Despite the California drought, berry picking season at the nearby Webb Ranch starts around June each year. Try picking berries and using them in new recipes! Nectarine & Berry Overnight Oats, anyone?

8. Eating Only Froyo For An Entire Day

Having eaten only ice cream for an entire day – okay, maybe for multiple days – I think eating froyo for every meal is the obvious next step (plus this article gives a bunch of great ideas).

9. Finishing A Giant Pizza

It’s not quite as big as the largest pizza in the world, but this 24 inch King Kong pizza from New York Pizza seems like a formidable opponent for a hungry stomach. Probably not a good idea to attempt this alone though…

10. Volunteering With Challah For Hunger

What better way to indulge in a love for carbs than by baking, selling, and buying golden loaves of bread?
