Servings: 5-6 burgers

Ingredients: 

Tzatziki Sauce
1 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cucumber, finely dices
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
2 tablespoons fresh, chopped dill
1 teaspoon lemon zet

Pickled Onions
½ red onion, thinly sliced
½ cup water
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Feta & Red Pepper Burger Patty
1 pound ground beef
½ cup crumbled feta
½ cup red bell pepper, finely diced

Directions:

Tzatziki Sauce
1. Add all ingredients to bowl and mix until they are evenly distributed.
2. Chill for about 15 minutes.

Pickled Onions

1. Mix water, vinegar, sugar, and salt in bowl until sugar and salt completely dissolve.
2. Pour vinegar mixture into tightly sealed container (a mason jar is ideal).
3. Put onions into container and make sure it is tightly sealed.
4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).

Feta & Red Pepper Burger Patty

1. Mix the feta and red pepper into the beef.
2. Roll about half a handful of the beef into a ball and then flatten
3. Add a thin layer of olive oil to pan and turn to medium high-heat.
4. Lightly salt and pepper each side of the burger patty.
5. Once pan is hot, cook each side of the patty for 2-3 minutes.
6. Once the burger patty is done, let rest for a couple minutes.

Now it’s time to grab yourself a bun (we used whole wheat pita bread) and stack the tangy tzatziki sauce and sweet pickled onions on top of the savory burger patty. Get ready to experience an explosion of Greek flavors in your mouth.
